The theme for FemF 2018 is Boundaries
Boundaries mark the actual or imagined limits between concrete or abstract objects. Boundaries can be set, crossed, transcended or broken. FemF 2018 explores boundaries from different viewpoints. Boundaries are central to feminism and feminists as we disentangle them to understand which boundaries affect us negatively and which are crucial to ensure our own and our communities’ wellbeing.
Boundaries can be limiting or othering, as is the case with boundaries imposed by gender binary, heteronormativity, racism, ableism and state borders. Boundaries are part of our everyday life - starting from our own personal space we define, create, set and uphold personal boundaries. This year’s FemF brings us together to discuss boundaries: How to set healthy boundaries for self-care? How do boundaries affect different people differently? How to transcend and break the boundaries that limit us |
