Welcome to organize program to FemF 2018! The Feminist forum, FemF will be organized in Helsinki at Oranssi (Kaasutehtaankatu 1) and Happi (Sörnäisten rantatie 31) on Saturday the 24st of November 2018.
FemF has grown year by year into an even bigger and more versatile event. Last year close to 40 different programs were conducted in two days. The event included art installations, panel discussions, workshops and lectures, to mention a few. This year we strive to have an even more diverse program than before!
Would you, your organization or independent work group like to organize a program in FemF?
The theme for the 2018 Feminist Forum FemF is Boundaries. Boundaries mark the actual or imagined limits between concrete or abstract objects. Boundaries can be set, crossed, transcended or broken. FemF 2018 explores boundaries from different viewpoints.
Boundaries are central to feminism and feminists as we disentangle them to understand which boundaries affect us negatively and which are crucial to ensure our own and our communities’ wellbeing. Boundaries can be limiting or othering, as is the case with boundaries imposed by gender binary, heteronormativity, racism, ableism and state borders. This year’s FemF brings us together to discuss boundaries: How to set healthy boundaries for self-care? How do boundaries affect different people differently? How to transcend and break the boundaries that limit us?
The call for program suggestions related to the theme will be open until 9th of September 2018 through the google forms link below. In case we get more program than we can accommodate the FemF working group will go through the program suggestions and curate them into an ensemble that fits the theme. This year more effort will be put into planning, so that different perspectives will come to the fore. The programs will be chosen based on content and perspective. We will confirm your participation the 16th of September the latest!
FemF is completely based on volunteer work and organized with limited resources. Organizing a program at FemF is free. The organizers of a program will cover potential costs (e.g. wages, travel costs and material for the program) by themselves.
